Come
and enjoy a taste of country life in the
city. Freightliners Farm, in the heart
of Islington, provides an exciting
opportunity for you to experience a real
working farm in action.
About
Us
Freightliners
Farm was founded in 1972 on waste land
behind Kings Cross Station in London and
the animals were housed in railway goods
vans - hence the unusual title. We moved
to our current site in 1979, and the new
buildings were erected in 1988.
The Farm is situated in the London
Borough of Islington, the tenth poorest
borough of London, combining some of the
most attractive streets, properties and
squares with some very deprived areas.
This mix is reflected in our 50 000
visitors, 200 school visits and numerous
volunteers each year.
Our current area is half a hectare,
though expansion is imminent, and is
used to house our collection of animals,
a classroom and gardens.
Animals
Freightliners
farm adopted a non-slaughtering policy.
This means that our animals are not
bredfor consumption. Many of our animals
are rare breeds. We keep and sell
chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea
fowl, quail, pigeons & doves,
rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and
chipmunks.
